Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brett Ing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez has chosen Doom as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Michael Alvarez!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Jonathan Paton and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ing throws a jab but it's blocked by Alvarez.
Ing throws a body punch but Alvarez moves out of range.
Alvarez throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Ing connects with a crisp jab.


It looks like Michael Alvarez has been cut.
Ing scores with a nice strike.
A telegraphed right hand from Ing misses the target.
Ing throws a looping overhand right but Alvarez ducks down to avoid it.
Alvarez is trying to counter with his kicks.
Alvarez takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Alvarez.
Ing lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.
We've been informed that Alvarez has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Ing dips to his left and cracks Alvarez with an uppercut!
Alvarez lands with an uppercut that bounces Ing off the cage and back into range.
Ing fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Alvarez manages to avoid it.
Alvarez takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Alvarez throws a nice head kick!


Ing is rocked!


It looks like Brett Ing has been cut.
Ing moves out of range of the body kick from Alvarez.
Oh Ing is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Alvarez fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Ing misses with a hook
and Alvarez counters with a solid body kick.
Ing swings and misses with a hook to the body.
It seemed like Alvarez was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Alvarez tries to move into range but Ing moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.
Ing seems to have got his legs back now.

and Alvarez makes him pay by landing a thudding low kick.
Ing throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Alvarez goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

Ing stuns Alvarez with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
A telegraphed right hand from Ing misses the target.
Alvarez staying out of range there.
Ing pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Ing digs a good body shot into Alvarez's ribs.
Ing lands a head shot.
Brett Ing seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ing lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Ing throws a series of punches but Alvarez avoids them all with ease.
Alvarez steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Ing.
Ing misses with a double jab

and Alvarez counters by moving into the clinch.
Alvarez misses with an elbow over the top.
Alvarez prevents Ing from breaking the clinch.
Alvarez lands a left hand.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Alvarez misses with a punch to the body.

Alvarez is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Ing is keeping busy.
Alvarez softening up his opponent with strikes, against the cage.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Alvarez just misses with a elbow thrown towards Ing's brow.
Alvarez lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Ing breaks the clinch.
Alvarez misses with a kick to the body
and Ing counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
The fighters circle, before Alvarez throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Ing's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Alvarez lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:31 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Kick & Punches). Michael Alvarez!
An out of breath Michael Alvarez thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
