PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between JT Redman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Michael D Amato (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Redman comes to the ring accompanied by Breathe. D Amato is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Mike Tyson Post-Fight Interview with Jim Gray. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, JT Redman!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Michael D Amato!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Anthony Taglia and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A shot to the body from Redman misses
and D Amato counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
D Amato jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.


It looks like JT Redman has been cut.
D Amato swings away with a body shot that misses
and Redman counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
Redman bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Redman has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Gorilla Warfare MMA in the buildup to the fight.
D Amato scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Redman doesn't seem bothered though.
D Amato fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Redman ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
D Amato moves out of range of the strikes.
A big right from Redman misses.
D Amato displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Redman throws out the jab.
Redman is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by D Amato.
D Amato keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Redman.
It seemed like D Amato was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
D Amato slips a jab from Redman.
Redman throws a body shot but no joy.
D Amato misses with a body shot.
Redman loads up on a big right hand but D Amato slips the punch.
A left lands for D Amato.

That's one minute gone in the round.
A slow jab from D Amato misses its intended target.
D Amato cracks Redman with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
D Amato bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Redman's head backwards.
D Amato misses with a body shot.
Redman takes a swing at D Amato's ribcage but misses.
A countering left hand to the body from D Amato misses.
D Amato jabs Redman to the body, keeping him at a distance.
D Amato cracks Redman with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
Redman misses with a hook
and D Amato counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
D Amato ducks under a wild hook from Redman.
D Amato lands with a shot to the body.
D Amato throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Redman throws a right and a left that both miss.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
D Amato cracks Redman with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the ropes.
D Amato clobbers Redman with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Nice defenses there by D Amato.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Redman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Redman has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from D Amato finds it's way round the side to connect with Redman's head.
D Amato lunges at Redman with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Redman's hand.
Redman on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.


Redman is rocked!
Redman thows a left - swing and a miss!
D Amato throws out a counter right but Redman avoids it with no problem.

D Amato lands with a right, followed by a left to the temple and Redman goes down! The ref sends D Amato to a neutral corner so he can begin the count. 3,4,5,6 and Redman is back to his feet. He seems a little groggy but the referee thinks he's OK to continue, so we're back to the action!
Oh Redman is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
D Amato is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Redman had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.
Redman swings for the body but D Amato moves out of range.
Redman seems to have got his legs back now.
Redman looks to land a right hand but D Amato moved out of range.
Redman misses with a left hand
and D Amato counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Redman swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Redman on the wrong end of a nice jab.


JT Redman's cut is getting worse.
Redman moves out of range as D Amato strikes.
Redman keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
D Amato smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Redman takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
D Amato misses with an uppercut
and Redman counters with a straight right hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Redman misses with a hook. D Amato ducked under it nicely.
D Amato throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Nice uppercut lands for D Amato. That snapped Redman's head back.
Redman walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
D Amato connects with a quick right hand that sends Redman tumbling backwards onto the canvas! As his head bounces into the ropes, it doesn't look good for him beating the count! 3,4,5,6,7 and he's up! No, he's back down again! This one is all over - the referee has called off the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:23 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punch). Michael D Amato!
After the fight, Michael D Amato was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
