Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Trinidad Elliott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Stephen Barett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stephen Barett has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Stephen Barett!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, James Ackerman and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Barett closes the distance and pushes Elliott back into the cage.
Barett prevents the takedown attempt.

Barett manages to break the clinch.

Barett closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Elliott did well to prevent Barett getting side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Barett gets to his feet - back to striking we go!

Barett has closed the distance and engaged Elliott in a clinch.

Barett has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Elliott uses from the top position.

Elliott drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Barett dives on top into guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Barett stands and steps away. Elliott gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Elliott leaves Barett with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Barett fails miserably with a takedown attempt.

Elliott rushes Barett and presses him up against the cage.
Barett goes for a takedown in the clinch but Elliott prevents it.
Trinidad Elliott has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Stephen Barett.

Barett pulls guard successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Elliott gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Barett.
Nice sprawl there from Elliott as Barett shoots in.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Barett is defended easily by Elliott.

and Elliott counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Barett misses with a combination
and Elliott counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Elliott tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Barett drives through with a takedown into Elliott's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Barett is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Elliott is looking for a sweep. Barett is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Barett is nestled in close to Elliott, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Barett in particular looking to stall.
Barett wants to pass the guard but Elliott is defending well.

Barett perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Barett throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Barett is controlling the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Barett shoots in but Elliott avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Barett throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Elliott tries to keep at a distance but Barett has taken the fight into the clinch.

Barett manages to pull guard.

Barett is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Elliott is aware though and is defending well.
Barett bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Elliott's guard.

Barett is breathing heavily.
Barett throws an elbow that misses. Elliott uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Barett's guard. Nice move by Elliott!
Elliott postures up.

Barett pulls Elliott in close to prevent any damage.

Barett is working an open guard so Elliott takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Barett dives in and grabs Elliott's left leg, looking for a takedown. Elliott pushes down on Barett's head and hops out.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Stephen Barett showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Elliott tries to lock up and control but Barett gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Barett lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
Elliott is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

Barett moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Elliott has worked his arm free - good work by Elliott!

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Barett wants to control for a moment but Elliott uses the opportunity to move back to half guard.

Elliott actively working from the bottom here.
Barett uses his free foot to push down on Elliott's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Elliott.
Trinidad Elliott has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Stephen Barett is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
