Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hector Batista (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gareth Mark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gareth Mark is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Batista.
Mark tries to land a front kick but Batista steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Batista tries to counter with a takedown but Mark is quick to defend against it.
Batista tries to land a body kick
and Mark counters with a one-two to the body.
Batista fails to land with a series of punches.
Batista throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Mark's waist but Mark gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Batista off to one side.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Batista appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Mark is working for a guillotine from mount but Batista frees his head quite easily.
Mark really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Batista. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Mark is thwarting Batista's attempts to control the position.

Mark is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Batista has managed to free his arm - good work.

Mark postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Batista to stand up.

Batista gets caught flat footed, as Mark shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.

Batista working for a triangle but Mark defends it easily.

Mark is sitting in close to Batista's body. Batista has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Mark is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Mark is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Batista.
