The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
MacKregor fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Darrow has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
MacKregor shoots in looking for a takedown but Darrow manages to keep the fight standing, pushing MacKregor's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Darrow motions for MacKregor to come forward. Darrow throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
MacKregor shoots for a double leg takedown but Darrow sprawls well. He's pushed MacKregor's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

MacKregor shoots in looking for a takedown. Darrow tries to sprawl out of it but MacKregor keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Darrow manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
MacKregor postures up in Darrow's guard and throws a big left but Darrow blocks it.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

MacKregor throws a big elbow that misses.

Darrow is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that MacKregor can do to turn this around?

Darrow leaves MacKregor with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
MacKregor takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Darrow buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
MacKregor tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Darrow swivels and escapes.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Darrow here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.

MacKregor shoots in but Darrow avoids the takedown attempt easily.

MacKregor closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
MacKregor is still on wobbly legs! Can Darrow finish him?
Darrow closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops MacKregor! Darrow dives in looking to finish! MacKregor is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!
