Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Finn Balor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Armstrong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Balor kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Monster. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
12 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Bruce Armstrong!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Roger Salmon and Micheangelo Fripello.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Balor lands with a good body shot.
Balor throws a body punch but Armstrong moves out of range.
Balor throws a chopping leg kick but Armstrong manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Balor pushes Armstrong up against the cage in a clinch.
Balor has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Balor turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Balor is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Armstrong is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.
Armstrong is trying to improve his position.
Balor is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Armstrong knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Armstrong takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Armstrong is looking to regain half guard here but Balor keeps moving and retains side control.
Balor lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
Armstrong gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Armstrong gets full guard.
Balor missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Armstrong has his foot on Balor's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Balor works his way back into a safe position though.
Balor tries to free his leg and advance position but Armstrong is retaining full guard.
Balor throwing strikes but missing.
Armstrong preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Balor postures up in Armstrong's guard and throws a big left but Armstrong blocks it.
Armstrong is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Balor scoring with some ground and pound.
Armstrong has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Balor doesn't defend quickly enough and Armstrong has managed to lock this one up! Can Balor escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to Armstrong on a fantastic submission victory.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:43 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Bruce Armstrong!
After winning the bout, Bruce Armstrong thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
