Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Dietrich Jager!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Leo Cox!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cox is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Jager's half guard.
Jager wants to stand back up but Cox manages to pass into side control.
Cox wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jager keeps working.

Cox has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Jager moves into the clinch.
Cox is trying to pull guard but Jager has him pressed against the cage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Cox tries to land knees in the clinch but Jager avoids the damage to the body.
Jager lands a hook that snaps the head of Cox backwards.
Cox takes an elbow to the forehead.
Cox wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Jager has him pressed against the cage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jager scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Cox throws a knee to the head but misses.
Jager lands with a short shot to the head.
Cox fails to pull guard.
Cox trying to land knees to the body.
Jager lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Jager has Cox pressed against the cage, preventing Cox from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Jager blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Jager breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Cox shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Jager wants to control but Cox is keeping busy.
Jager on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Jager tries to get out of the position.
Jager wants to get back to full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jager avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Cox.
Cox is controlling the pace.
Cox working over Jager with some ground and pound. Jager looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Cox looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Cox is thwarting Jager's attempts to control the position.
Cox trying to control from half guard but Jager is working away.
Jager is looking to improve his position.
Jager preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Cox throwing shots but Jager is blocking nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Cox not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Cox content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Jager will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Cox tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Jager makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.

Jager moves into the clinch successfully.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cox is trying to break the clinch but Jager has him pressed against the cage.
Cox wants to break free but Jager has control.
Cox can't break the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Dietrich Jager dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!



Jager rushes Cox and presses him up against the cage.
Cox working aggressively here.

Jager's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Jager throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cox tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Jager is in Cox's guard.

Jager is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Cox has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Jager is looking to defend but Cox has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Jager! Cox pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Jager taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:36 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Leo Cox!
