Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Quintin Day!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ryan Sanchez!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Yuuki Gou and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sanchez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.

Sanchez instigates a clinch.
Sanchez avoids a wild elbow strike from Day.
Day is trying to break free.
Day is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Sanchez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Day takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Sanchez throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Day.


It looks like Quintin Day has been cut.

Sanchez clinches up against the cage.

Day breaks the clinch.
Day avoids the head kick by Sanchez.

Sanchez moves into the clinch successfully.
Day is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Sanchez breaks the clinch.

Day wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Sanchez's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Sanchez tries to score a power double leg takedown but Day sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sanchez somewhat.
Sanchez misses with a body kick.
As Sanchez looks to move away, Day throws a big counter combo bu Sanchez just gets out of the way.
Day avoids the head kick by Sanchez.
Day throws a jab when Sanchez was well out of range.
Sanchez misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Sanchez throws a body kick despite being completely out of range
and Day counters with a series of strikes. Sanchez will be more careful next time no doubt.

Sanchez moves into the clinch.
Day is trying to force a seperation but Sanchez has the dominant position.

Day manages to break the clinch.
Day fails with a takedown attempt.

Sanchez tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Sanchez tries to land a front kick but Day steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Sanchez tries a head kick but it misses.
As Sanchez looks to move away, Day throws a big counter combo bu Sanchez just gets out of the way.
Sanchez misses with a head kick.

Sanchez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Sanchez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Sanchez has managed to clinch.

Day breaks from the clinch.
Sanchez shoots in for a double leg but Day sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Day fails with a takedown attempt.
Day takes a head kick and keeps coming.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Day closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Sanchez quickly recovers to half guard.

Sanchez looks winded!
Sanchez has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Day is working away from the top position though.
Sanchez is trying to stand up here but Day is controlling him well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Day is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Sanchez is trying to escape back to his feet but Day uses the scramble to pass into side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sanchez is being controlled here.

Day looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Sanchez throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Day's waist but Day gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sanchez off to one side.
Quintin Day has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Sanchez.
Sanchez lands a big head kick that sends Day to the canvas! Sanchez follows up with strikes from the mount that forces the ref to step in and stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Ryan Sanchez!
