Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Boris Britva (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hayder Hassan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The key to victory for Boris Britva has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Boris Britva!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Hayder Hassan!
The judges for this bout are Fedor Mirinova, Valeri Chadov and Ivan Kurochkin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice jab there from Britva.

and Hassan counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hassan.

Hassan jumps guard and drags Britva to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Hassan looking to hit a scissor sweep but Britva is one step ahead there.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hassan holds on and takes a little breather.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hassan has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Britva can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Britva is really struggling to control Hassan but he's trying to hold on to the position.

Hassan wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Hassan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
A head kick misses from Hassan.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Britva is defended easily by Hassan.
Britva shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hassan but Hassan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Hassan is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Britva can't fight it off and eventually Hassan manages to take the fight to the floor. Britva looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Hassan is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Hassan throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Britva tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Hassan is in Britva's guard.

Hassan has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Britva is proving hard to escape from.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Hassan throws a right hand that Britva ducks under and follows up with a left that Britva also avoids with ease.
Britva shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hassan as he jumps to the side.
Hassan now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Boris Britva is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Britva wants to get back to his feet but Hassan is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hassan has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Hassan must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Hassan won't allow Britva to sweep him here.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Britva.

Britva tries to break the clinch but Hassan is controlling the position.
Britva drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Hassan gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Hassan has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Britva regains guard immediately.

Hassan is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Hassan passes Britva's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Hassan perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

Hassan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Britva has managed to free his arm - good work.

Hassan is working for a submission of some sort.
Hassan is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Hayder Hassan showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!


Britva has his takedown stuffed

and Hassan counters with a takedown into side control.
Britva tries to wriggle free to get back to his feet but he's given up his back! Oops.
Hassan controls the action.
Let's hope that Hassan has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hassan's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Britva looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Hassan looking to finish the fight with a rear naked choke. Britva is controlling Hassan 's left arm and he spins nicely into guard.
Britva is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Hassan wants to stand up but Britva is controlling him.
Hassan pulls Britva in close to prevent any damage.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Horrible takedown attempt by Britva or perhaps it was just good defense by Hassan, which made it look bad.

Hassan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Britva has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hassan has managed to get both his arms back between Britva's legs - danger averted.
Britva controls Hassan momentarily but Hassan frees himself.
Hassan stays in close to Britva's body and controls the position.

Hayder Hassan comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Hassan has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
