Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Eric Draven (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edwin Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Eric Draven!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Edwin Evans!
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Elvis Blanc and Trevor Gratis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Draven, right into the meat.
Evans with a poor takedown
and Draven counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.

Evans closes the distance and clinches.
Evans avoiding damage.
I was talking to Draven's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Draven works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

Evans jumps into guard, dragging Draven to the mat.

Evans is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Draven defends well.
Evans is controlling Draven's posture.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Draven is stalling in the full guard.

Draven missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Evans pulls Draven in to control the position.
Evans looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Draven throws an elbow that misses. Evans uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Draven's guard. Nice move by Evans!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Draven is looking to sweep but instead, Evans has passed into half guard.
Evans not doing much here.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Draven moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Draven lands a high kick!
Draven lands with a kick to the ribs.

Evans gets a takedown into half guard.
Draven preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Evans stands up from half guard.
Draven chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Evans tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Draven manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
It appears Draven was looking to counter with a kick there.
Evans chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Draven can pounce on him.
Draven lands a front kick.
Draven is looking to slow Evans down with leg kicks.

Evans closes the distance and clinches.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Draven lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
Evans jumps guard but Draven stands there with Evans around his waist. Evans gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Evans manages to break the clinch.

Evans has Draven up against the cage in a clinch.
Draven throws a punch but it's blocked by Evans.
Evans stalls.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Draven throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Evanss head.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Draven has had enough of the clinch but Evans keeps him there for the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Draven dominated that round.

Draven throws a quick inside leg kick.
Evans darts in trying to clinch
and Draven counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Evans takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?

Evans with a lazy takedown attempt
and Draven counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Evans is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Evans closes the distance and clinches.

Draven avoids the elbow strike from Evans, against the cage.
Evans tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Draven just stands there and leans against the cage.
The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Draven blocks a couple of punches on the inside.

Evans leaning against his opponent.
Draven lands with a light punch inside.
Draven working aggressively here.

Evans has Draven pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Evans pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Draven tumbling to the mat - Evans dives into Draven's guard.
Draven trying to keep a closed guard but Evans is proving a slippery customer.
Draven wants to get back to his feet but Evans is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Draven is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Evans can do to turn this around?

Evans seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Evans passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Evans in side control, throwing shots but Draven defends.
Evans controlling the position.
Draven tries to get back to half guard but can't.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Evans closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Draven.

Evans breaks from the clinch.
An inside leg kick lands from Draven.
Evans moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Draven misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Edwin Evans is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Evans tries to score a power double leg takedown but Draven sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Evans somewhat.
Eric Draven has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Edwin Evans.

Draven keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Evans fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Draven manages to avoid it.
Draven lands a high kick!
Draven lands with a kick to the ribs.
Evans shoots in for a double leg but Draven sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Draven scores with the left hand. Evans knows he should have avoided that one.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Evans doesn't succeed with the takedown
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Evans is breathing heavily.
That kick from Draven tenderised Evans's leg. Evans is trying to keep his angry face on.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eric Draven dominated that second round.
That's time! Draven's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!


Draven explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Draven lands a high kick!
Evans shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Draven as he avoids it easily.

Draven gets tackled into the cage by Evans. Evans maintains the clinch.

Evans pulls Draven into guard.
Evans is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Evans content to control rather than advance.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Draven is trying to maintain the position but Evans is very close to passing his half guard.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Evans trying to pass the guard but Draven defending well.
Draven on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Draven tries to get out of the position.
Draven has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Evans is working away from the top position though.

Evans wants to free his trapped foot but Draven is holding on for dear life with his legs.
Evans passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Draven!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Draven is trying desperately to improve position.
Evans looking to ground and pound but Draven is blocking nicely.
Draven wants to control but Evans is having none of it.

Evans wants to finish this one by submission but Draven is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Evans.

Evans working for a submission but Draven is keeping him at bay.

Evans thowing shots but they're missing.
Evans looking to control but Draven is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Draven is looking to improve his position but Evans isn't that keen on the idea.
Draven looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!
Draven wants to get back to his feet.

Evans is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.
Eric Draven is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Draven prevents Evans from getting a body triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Evans has got one arm under Draven's chin. This could be trouble... Draven trying to control the other hand but Evans gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Draven has tapped out! The fight is over!
