Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jospeh Clay!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Exequiel De Leon!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Cecil Peabody and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clay shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. De Leon defends it nicely.

Clay lands a couple of decent looking body shots there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

De Leon gets to his feet - Clay follows without any prompting.

De Leon closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - De Leon lands in his opponent's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Clay manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
Clay drops to a knee looking for a takedown but De Leon gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Clay tries to pull guard but De Leon won't allow it.

Clay drags the fight down to the ground.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Clay wants to stand up but De Leon is controlling him.

Clay is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

De Leon looks like he's trying to stand up.
De Leon is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Clay really is a fat lump.

De Leon is looking to control Clay's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can De Leon avoid being mounted?

De Leon wants to control but Clay postures up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Clay will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Clay tries for a takedown but De Leon sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Clay might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Clay tries to kick De Leon off but De Leon keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

De Leon is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

De Leon prevents Clay from standing back up.

A close round but Exequiel De Leon will probably get the nod.

Clay gets caught napping as De Leon dives in and scores a takedown. Clay manages to retain guard.

De Leon wants to get up but he can't break Clay's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

De Leon is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Clay is staying active.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

De Leon tries to roll over but Clay keeps him under control.
De Leon is breathing heavily.
Clay throwing shots but De Leon is blocking nicely.
De Leon is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Clay jumps into side control!
You can see the frustration on De Leon's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Clay has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

De Leon closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Clay did well to prevent De Leon getting side control.

Clay manages to escape and get back to his feet!

A momentary lapse in concentration from Clay enables De Leon to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Clay manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Clay wants to stand up but De Leon is controlling him.
Clay looking for a sweep. Not yet Clay, not yet.
De Leon sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Clay's guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Clay manages to escape and get back to his feet!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jospeh Clay will probably get the nod.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!


De Leon tries to clinch but Clay moves out of range.
Clay is looking for a counter combo.
De Leon misses with a few strikes there.
De Leon throws a right and a left that Clay avoids nicely.
De Leon jabs Clay right on the nose. Clay blinks but takes it well.
Jospeh Clay is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

De Leon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Clay pushes De Leon off and gets back to his feet.

De Leon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. De Leon showed some decent athleticism there.
De Leon takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Clay is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

De Leon is looking to improve his position.
Clay looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Clay seems to be working for a kimura but De Leon defends the submission attempt.

De Leon is looking for a sweep. Clay is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
De Leon has a hand on Clay's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Clay takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

De Leon is desperately trying to improve his position but Clay has a good base and remains in mount.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Clay is standing up, even though he is in mount.

De Leon shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Clay manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Clay is on top in guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Clay tries to stand but De Leon is controlling from the bottom.

Clay decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jospeh Clay showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Clay has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
