Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Pera Korenko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Miroslav Provel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Korenko comes to the cage accompanied by To kume. The crowd seem to be enjoying Provel's choice of entrance music: Eyes Set to Kill - "Broken Frames". This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Pera Korenko!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Miroslav Provel!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Valeri Chadov and Sergei Dronov.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Korenko tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Provel paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Korenko misses with a body shot.

Provel tries to keep at a distance but Korenko has taken the fight into the clinch.
Korenko wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Provel has him pressed against the cage.
Korenko with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head.
Korenko drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Provel gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Provel's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Provel takes the fight into the clinch.
A short right from Korenko on the inside.
Provel looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Korenko is trying to pull guard but Provel has him pressed against the cage.
Provel on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Korenko gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Provel.
Korenko tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Provel's elbow.
Korenko misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Korenko tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Provel smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Pera Korenko. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Korenko tries to clinch but Provel moves out of range.
Korenko throws a leg kick that is checked

and Provel counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Korenko is trying to stand.
Provel thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Korenko's head.
Provel working over Korenko with some ground and pound. Korenko looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable.

Provel working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Provel looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Provel lands strikes from half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Provel takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Provel drops an elbow to the side of Korenko's head.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Korenko wants to get back to his feet.
Korenko taking some punishment here, with Provel in his half guard.
Ground and pound from Provel.
Provel looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Korenko with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
Provel working the head and body with strikes.
Provel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Korenko is trying to stand.
Korenko is breathing heavily.
Korenko on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Provel works his way into side control.
Provel is chipping away with strikes.
Provel wants to control but Korenko is keeping him busy.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Korenko is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Provel has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Provel lands a nice forearm strike.


Korenko is rocked!
A big shot lands for Provel! That's hurt Korenko! Will he recover? Provel fires away with more strikes and the referee has to step in to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Miroslav Provel!
Miroslav Provel decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
