Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Durham!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kedar Dere!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Elvis Blanc and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dere tries for a takedown but Durham sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Durham gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Durham throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Deres head.
Durham has Dere pressed against the cage, preventing Dere from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Durham lands an uppercut.
Durham blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Dere is trying to break free.
Durham throws an elbow that misses.
A nice left hand lands by Durham.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

With the fighters clinched against the cage, Durham creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Durham gets control of Dere's arms and successfully pulls guard. Durham will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Durham will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Durham wants to stand and escape but Dere is having none of it.
Dere has been taking part in the yoga sessions down at Cozad MMA Montreal. Presumably he's going to look for a slick submission... Or maybe he's looking to avoid one.

Durham throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

It looks like Kedar Dere has been cut.

Durham lands a shoulder strike.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Dere has eaten all the pies!
Dere can't break the clinch.
Durham has Dere pressed against the cage.
Durham gets through Dere's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Dere tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Durham just stands there and leans against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

James Durham dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Kedar Dere's cut.
That's time! Durham's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.



Dere gets tackled into the cage by Durham. Durham maintains the clinch.
