Horrible takedown attempt by Gonzalez or perhaps it was just good defense by Richard, which made it look bad.
Gonzalez fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.

Gonzalez is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Richard's half guard.
Richard tries to get to full guard but Gonzalez has control of the leg.

Gonzalez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

Richard is trying to escape the mount but Gonzalez keeps good control and instead manages to take Richard's back.
I really don't envy Richard right now.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
Richard is in a world of trouble here. He's outmatched on the ground here and he'd better get Gonzalez off his back sharpish unless he wants to be submitted.

Gonzalez has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Richard is defending well but eventually Gonzalez manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Richard has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!
