Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Artem Obukhov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morgan has chosen "In Yo Face" as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Artem Obukhov!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Robert Morgan!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Paul Gruel and Josh West.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan throws a head kick but Obukhov moves out of range.
Obukhov definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Obukhov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Morgan throws out the jab.
Morgan tries to clinch

and Obukhov counters with a single leg into guard. Morgan didn't expect that.
Obukhov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Morgan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Obukhov engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Obukhov wants to pass the guard but Morgan is keeping the position.
Morgan wants to sweep here but Obukhov controlling him for the moment.
Morgan wants to stand and escape but Obukhov is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Obukhov working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Obukhov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morgan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Obukhov trying to control but Morgan is working from the bottom.
Obukhov working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Morgan's head.

Morgan looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Obukhov postures up in Morgan's guard and throws a big left but Morgan blocks it.

Morgan throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Obukhov throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Morgan works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Obukhov wants to pass the guard but Morgan is keeping the position.
Morgan looking to control.
Obukhov sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Morgan's guard.
Obukhov trying to pass the guard but Morgan defending well.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Robert Morgan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Morgan throws a head kick that misses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
A head kick misses from Morgan.
Morgan looks to land a left hand but Obukhov moved out of range nicely.
Obukhov fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Morgan gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Obukhov.
Some wild striking there from Morgan.
Morgan waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Obukhov.
Morgan lands a high kick!
Obukhov looks to score with a jab to the body but Morgan is just out of range.

Obukhov closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Morgan quickly recovers to half guard.
Morgan preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Obukhov trying to advance position but Morgan counters by regaining guard.
Obukhov wants to control from the top but Morgan keeps moving.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Obukhov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Morgan swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Obukhov with a flurry of punches that miss.
Obukhov landing some decent shots from guard.
Obukhov scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Obukhov is pushing down on Morgan's leg trying to pass to half guard. Morgan is fighting to maintain full guard but Obukhov has managed to sneak the leg through.
Obukhov working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Morgan's thigh. Morgan counters though and makes it back to full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morgan keeping moving, preventing Obukhov from controlling successfully.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Morgan is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Obukhov postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Morgan keeping full guard, as Obukhov tries to pass.
Obukhov trying to pass the guard. He's being very persistent here but Morgan manages to land a sweep and now he's on top!
Obukhov bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Morgan's guard.
We've been informed that Morgan has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Obukhov with a flurry of punches that miss.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Obukhov content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Morgan has locked up a guillotine! Morgan's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Obukhov is holding on here and Morgan must be using up a lot of energy. Obukhov has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Morgan gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Robert Morgan!
A relieved looking Robert Morgan thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
