PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jonathan Fuller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Arnold Shwartzneger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arnold Shwartzneger will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jonathan Fuller!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Arnold Shwartzneger!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Nard Betker and Paulsen Ambrosius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shwartzneger with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Shwartzneger looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Shwartzneger throws a sloppy head kick and Fuller moves out of range easily.
Shwartzneger has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Fuller moves into the clinch successfully.
Fuller goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Fuller has a couple of punches blocked by Shwartzneger.

Shwartzneger turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Shwartzneger manages to end up in side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Shwartzneger throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Fuller regains half guard.

Fuller is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Shwartzneger pulls his head out easily.
Fuller is staying active underneath Shwartzneger, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fuller keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Fuller looks like he's trying to stand up.
Shwartzneger thows a huge punch but Fuller dodges it nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Shwartzneger pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Fuller takes a head kick and shrugs it off.
Shwartzneger throws a leg kick but Fuller checks it.
Shwartzneger throws a sloppy head kick and Fuller moves out of range easily.

Shwartzneger tries to keep at a distance but Fuller has taken the fight into the clinch.

Fuller manages to break the clinch.

and Fuller counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Fuller drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Fuller jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Fuller gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Shwartzneger clinches with his opponent.
Shwartzneger throws a knee to the head but misses.
Fuller is pushing Shwartzneger up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Shwartzneger blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Fuller wants to break free but Shwartzneger has control.

Fuller pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Shwartzneger looks for the body kick but Fuller saw that one coming.

Shwartzneger has managed to clinch.

Fuller escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shwartzneger tries a head kick but it misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Fuller moves into the clinch.
Fuller throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Fuller has Shwartzneger pushed against the cage.
A left hand lands to the body for Fuller.
Fuller wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Shwartzneger has him pressed against the cage.
Shwartzneger is trying to break the clinch but Fuller is controlling him.
Fuller is trying to break the clinch but Shwartzneger is controlling him.
Fuller wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Shwartzneger closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Shwartzneger wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fuller keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Jonathan Fuller will probably get the nod.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Shwartzneger walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.

so Fuller counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Fuller engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Shwartzneger looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Fuller puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Fuller lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fuller thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Fuller is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Shwartzneger is breathing heavily.
Shwartzneger pushes Fuller off looking to stand but Fuller dives back in and keeps control.
Fuller is looking to take a break and control but Shwartzneger is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fuller throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Shwartzneger wants to get back to his feet.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Fuller moves into the clinch successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Fuller breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Fuller tries to keep at a distance but Shwartzneger has taken the fight into the clinch.

A head kick misses from Shwartzneger.
Fuller changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

Shwartzneger wants to get back to his feet but Fuller is dominant here and he's now got Shwartzneger's back!

Fuller looking to break Shwartzneger's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Shwartzneger remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Fuller will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Fuller is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Shwartzneger has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Shwartzneger looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jonathan Fuller dominated that second round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! And we move into the final round!


Shwartzneger throws a right and a left that both miss.

Fuller is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Fuller throws a hook to the side of Shwartzneger's head but Shwartzneger sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.

Fuller is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
Fuller has had enough of the clinch but Shwartzneger keeps him there for the moment.
Shwartzneger is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Fuller could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Fuller for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.

Fuller has closed the distance and engaged Shwartzneger in a clinch.

Fuller's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Fuller throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Shwartzneger.

Shwartzneger feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Shwartzneger wants to stand but Fuller has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

Fuller trying to control the position from guard on top but Shwartzneger is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Shwartzneger misses with a head kick.
Fuller seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Shwartzneger throws a nice looking combination but Fuller bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Fuller looking to score a takedown here. Shwartzneger is defending well but Fuller drives through and ends up in Shwartzneger's guard.

Shwartzneger manages to escape and get back to his feet.

Fuller is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Shwartzneger.
Shwartzneger throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Arnold Shwartzneger comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Fuller has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
