Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Better Dead (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aleksander Kawulski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dead comes to the cage accompanied by Better off Dead. Kawulski has chosen DMX - Slippin' as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Better Dead!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Aleksander Kawulski!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, Columbo Gatti and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kawulski scores with a crisp jab that stopped Dead in his tracks.

Kawulski throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Dead taking some punishment here, with Kawulski in his half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Well, if Kawulski is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Kawulski has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Better Dead seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dead connects with a right hand. Kawulski shakes it off.
Dead is looking light on his feet compared to last time was saw him fight.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

The fighters circling - Dead throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Dead pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kawulski looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Kawulski scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Dead throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kawulski drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Dead defends it well.
Kawulski ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.

Better Dead has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aleksander Kawulski.

Kawulski looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Kawulski is nestled in close to Dead, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kawulski in particular looking to stall.
Dead is trying to stand up here but Kawulski is controlling him well.
Kawulski is figuring out what he wants to do next.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dead throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Dead misses with a kick to the body.

Kawulski drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Dead defends it well.

A jab from Kawulski does it's job there.
A cross from Kawulski lands.

Kawulski shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Kawulski is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

A close round but Aleksander Kawulski will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Dead looks to throw the jab but Kawulski is out of range.
Dead misses with a looping left.

Dead smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.

Kawulski cracks Dead with an open hand slap.
Dead throws a right and a left that Kawulski avoids nicely.
Kawulski shoots in for a takedown but Dead shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Kawulski is definitely looking for the counter takedowns here.
Dead ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kawulski moves away.

Kawulski feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Kawulski is pressing down on Dead's thigh, looking to free his foot. Dead is holding on for now.

Kawulski is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Dead has escaped the position, nice work there.

Kawulski has an Americana. Dead didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Kawulski is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Kawulski hooks up with any of them at the after show party.

After winning the bout, Aleksander Kawulski thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
Better Dead spoke after the fight, saying 'I was a little off today...o.k. I'm always a little off.'.
