The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Abe has Jones up against the cage in a clinch.
Still in the clinch, Abe scores with a nice short uppercut.
Abe blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Abe is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Jones blocks an uppercut.
Jones tries a body shot but Abe blocks it.

Jones manages to break the clinch.
Abe looks to clinch
and Jones counters with a straight punch to the midsection.

Abe stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Jones.

Abe fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Jones, pushing him back against the cage.
Jones misses with a punch on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

I was talking to Jones's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.
Jones tries to work over Abe's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
A nice left hand lands by Jones.

Jones scores with an uppercut up the middle.

Jones breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jones fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Abe.
Jones throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Abe stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

and Jones counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

Jones scores with a hook to the body. Abe takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Abe walks into a straight right hand from Jones.
Jones circles and sees the opportunity to plant his feet and throw a really nice straight left hand that drops Abe to the canvas! Abe doesn't know where he is but he's trying to survive - Jones keeps piling on the pressure and forces the referee to step in! This one is aaaaaall over!
