Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Enzo May (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ramon Rojo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Rojo has chosen Gunman as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Enzo May!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Ramon Rojo!
The judges for this bout are James Glass, Paul Tew and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rojo misses with a two punch combination.
May tries to clinch up.
May plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!


It looks like Ramon Rojo has been cut.

May bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

May goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rojo has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for May but great work by Rojo.
May prevents Rojo from improving position.
May knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rojo on the ground.
May wants to control but Rojo postures up.

Rojo is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. May knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rojo wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by May, who protects the arm well.
Rojo wants to lay and pray for a moment but May keeps working.

Rojo is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, May has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
May is not content to let Rojo control the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rojo slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by May.

May is wriggling around trying to escape.
May is controlling an arm, preventing Rojo from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

Rojo is working for a guillotine from mount but May frees his head quite easily.
Rojo wants to take May's back but he can't do it this time.
Rojo trying to control but May is having none of it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Rojo jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but May manages to avoid the submission attempt.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rojo controls the position.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Rojo misses with a body kick.
Rojo swings widly with a right hand
and May counters with a left to the body.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

May scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
May trying to control the action but Rojo is working from the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


May lands a right hook to the body.
Rojo throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
May appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

May shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. May showed some decent athleticism there.
Rojo tries to roll over but May keeps him under control.
May is looking to stall here but Rojo recovers full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
May throws a big right hand that misses.

May trying to control the position from guard on top but Rojo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Rojo is looking for a triangle but May pushes his legs off easily.

May stands up from guard. Let's bang!
May lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Rojo looks to throw the jab but May is out of range.

May shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Rojo is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and May defends well.
May wants to control from the top but Rojo keeps moving.

Enzo May overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

May looking to sit in guard and control but Rojo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rojo looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Rojo has taken the fight to the clinch.
Rojo misses with a punch to the body.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rojo wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
May can't get the takedown.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
May scores with a shot to the side of Rojo's head.

May's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Rojo throws a leg kick
and May counters with a one-two to the body.
May could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

May closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.


Rojo is rocked!
Rojo regains half guard there - taking advantage of May's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Rojo is staying active underneath May, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rojo is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but May pulls his head out easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!


Rojo throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

May closes the distance and clinches.
May avoiding damage as Rojo throws knees to the body.

May jumps guard and drags Rojo to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
May keeping full guard, as Rojo tries to pass.
Rojo is pushing down on May's leg trying to pass to half guard. May is fighting to maintain full guard but Rojo has managed to sneak the leg through.

May has one foot on Rojo's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
Rojo misses with a left hand
and May counters with a stiff right hand.

May wants to clinch up but Rojo keeps it at a distance.
A looping hook to the body misses from Rojo. May does a little dance to reset his feet.

May shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
May wants to lay and pray for a moment but Rojo keeps working.

Rojo is looking to improve his position.

May is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Rojo slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Ramon Rojo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Rojo is trying to keep May in close.
Rojo throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Rojo wants to sweep here but May controlling him for the moment.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Rojo is on top in guard.

May is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Rojo can do to turn this around?
May can't keep his opponent in guard - Rojo advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

May is defending against the submission attempts here by Rojo.

Rojo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so May is just riding it out for now. Rojo eventually gives up the hold.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Enzo May.
Well May has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
