Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abraham Grimes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lou Alex (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alex has chosen Charged up as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Abraham Grimes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lou Alex!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alex drives through with a takedown into guard.
Alex controls from within his opponent's guard.
Alex postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Alex is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Alex not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Alex stands up and waves to Grimes to follow him.
Grimes really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Alex moves into the clinch.

Alex pushes Grimes back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.

Alex pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Alex clinches up with Grimes and pushes him back against the cage.

Alex has clasped his hands together around Grimes's back... aaand, he's got a takedown into side control. Nicely done.
Grimes can't do much from the bottom here.
Alex is maintaining the dominant position - no doubt Grimes will start to get frustrated soon if he's not already.

Alex is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Grimes knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Grimes is looking to regain half guard here but Alex keeps moving and retains side control.

Grimes tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Alex presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Alex cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Grimes swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing.

Alex is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Grimes to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Grimes shrugs it off.
Alex misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Grimes tries to hold on but Alex pushes him away.

Alex looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Grimes is trying to escape the mount but Alex keeps good control and instead manages to take Grimes's back.

Alex throws a big right hand but he misses and hits the mat. Ouch.

Alex misses with a punch to the head.
Grimes trying to control the action but Alex just sinks the hooks in.

Grimes tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell!

Alex gets to his feet and calls his opponent to stand. Here come the fireworks!

Alex has Grimes up against the cage in a clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Alex successfully pulls guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex gets a takedown into half guard.
Alex is pressing down on Grimes's thigh, looking to free his foot. Grimes is holding on for now.

Alex stands up from half guard.
Alex throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Grimes throws a big counter combination but Alex scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Alex scores with a leg kick.

Grimes wants to get back to full guard.

Alex is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Grimes doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Alex.

Grimes wants to control but Alex is having none of it.

Alex throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

Grimes tries to lock up and control but Alex gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Alex sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!

Alex is looking to work his way around to Grimes's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Alex throwing sloppy strikes here. Perhaps if he tightened up his striking from such a dominant position, he'd be able to finish easier.
Grimes can't escape the position.

Alex stands up from the dominant position. He obviously fancies his chances standing.
Alex tests Grimes's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Alex moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.

Alex manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Grimes on his heels. He'll look to pass Grimes's guard now, I'm sure.

Grimes knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Alex on the ground.
Alex is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Grimes is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Alex is aware though and is defending well.
Grimes wants to get back to his feet but Alex is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Alex drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Alex has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Grimes!

Alex wants to finish this one by submission but Grimes is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Alex.
Grimes is in a horrible position here, under a barrage of strikes, he's managing to avoid any damage.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lou Alex showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!

Alex wants to pass the guard but Grimes is defending well.

Alex closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Grimes's guard.

Grimes pushes Alex off and gets back to his feet.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Grimes wants to control the position but Alex says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

Lou Alex is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Alex has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Lou Alex decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
