Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Yong Rowe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bolex First (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Yong Rowe!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bolex First!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Arvi Lind and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rowe looks for a takedown but First sprawls well.

Rowe tries to keep at a distance but First has taken the fight into the clinch.
First pushes off an throws an elbow but Rowe leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
First tries for a takedown. No joy.

Rowe gets control of First's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rowe will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
First trying to control the position from guard on top but Rowe is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
First throws an elbow that misses. Rowe uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in First's guard. Nice move by Rowe!

First is looking to stand up but Rowe isn't so interested in that idea.
First working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Rowe.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Rowe would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Rowe circles away from the clinch attempt.

First pushes Rowe up against the cage in a clinch.
First has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Rowe after a bit of a struggle.
First is defending well against a takedown attempt.
First fails to pull the fight into his guard.

First closes the distance and clinches up with Rowe, looking for a takedown. First pushes Rowe against the cage but Rowe circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Rowe connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
First looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rowe is fending him off so far but First persists. Nope, Rowe circles away and we're back to standing.
First slaps away a takedown attempt from Rowe, before circling back to the center of the mat.
First throws a left and a right that both miss
letting Rowe counter with a right hand.
First throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Rowe's waist but Rowe gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing First off to one side.
A quick step to the side and Rowe tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
First tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rowe paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Rowe appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
First looks to clinch
and Rowe counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps First thinking.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Rowe closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Rowe tries for a kimura but First is defending well.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
First parries the strikes from Rowe easily there. Rowe is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable First to escape.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Rowe tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Rowe is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, First has escaped the position, nice work there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.


First tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Rowe goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Rowe gets control of First's arms and successfully pulls guard. Rowe will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Rowe is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

First wants to control from the top but Rowe keeps moving.
Rowe avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

First drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Rowe manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now First has Rowe in his guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

First tries to clinch up
and Rowe counters with a nice uppercut.

First moves into range and clinches up with Rowe.
First goes for a takedown attempt but Rowe pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Rowe looks for a takedown but First sprawls well.
First shoots in but no luck this time.
First throws a right and a left that both miss.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
First tries to clinch but Rowe is having none of it.
First shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rowe sprawls well. Rowe wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. First gets slowly back to his feet.
Rowe tries to counter with a takedown but First is quick to defend against it.

Bolex First showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Rowe throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
First tries to clinch there but Rowe circles away.

Rowe drops down looking for a counter takedown but First sprawls and moves away.
Rowe slaps away a takedown attempt from First, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Rowe was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.

Rowe shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has First pinned against the cage. First gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Rowe stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Rowe wants it to stay on the feet.
First takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Nice takedown defense from First. No joy for Rowe on that attempt.
First tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Rowe paws at him with a jab and circles away.

and Rowe counters with a single leg into guard. First didn't expect that.
First utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

First is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Rowe dives into side control.
Check out the look on Rowe's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
Yong Rowe overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Rowe misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Rowe breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
First looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Rowe is fending him off so far but First persists. Nope, Rowe circles away and we're back to standing.
