PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Ross Morrow (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuli Soininen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Soininen is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Maamme-Laulu. Samuli Soininen will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Ross Morrow!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Samuli Soininen!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Tarja Halkonen and Arvi Lind.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Soininen looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Morrow!
Soininen wants to control but Morrow is keeping him busy.

Soininen tries for a kimura but Morrow is defending well.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

You can see the frustration on Morrow's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Morrow is pushing Soininen's head away, looking to escape. Soininen manages to hold on to the position though.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Soininen shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Soininen was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

That was a close second round but I would say that Ross Morrow will probably get the nod.

Soininen closes the distance and clinches up with Morrow, looking for a takedown. Soininen pushes Morrow against the cage but Morrow circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Soininen tries to pull guard but Morrow holds him up against the cage and eventually Soininen drops back down to his feet.

Soininen shoots for a double leg takedown but Morrow sprawls well. He's pushed Soininen's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
