Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Johan Machado (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Average Joe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Machado comes to the cage accompanied by Enter Sandman. Average Joe has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johan Machado!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Average Joe!
The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Francis DeMontford and Summer Carpenter.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Machado cracks Joe with a good jab.
Machado lands with an uppercut that bounces Joe off the cage and back into range.
Machado tries to score a power double leg takedown but Joe sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Machado somewhat.
Joe takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Joe winds up and cracks Machado with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Machado manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Machado drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Joe dives on top into guard.

Machado has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Joe can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Machado is breathing heavily.
Joe content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Joe postures up and lands a big shot to Machado's brow.

Machado is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Machado has his foot on Joe's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Joe works his way back into a safe position though.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

That was a close round but I would say that Johan Machado will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Machado connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Joe throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Machado fails to land the takedown.
Machado dodges the punch combination from Joe.
Joe swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Machado slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Machado stalks Joe and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Joe's face. Joe staggers backwards, shaken.
Machado rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Joe counters with a left and a right that stings Machado.
Good shot there by Joe.


Machado is rocked!


It looks like Johan Machado has been cut.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Machado throws a hook but Joe avoids it easily.
Machado throws a body shot but no joy.

Machado drives through with a takedown into Joe's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

Joe pushes Machado off and scrambles back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Machado throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Joe counters with a series of strikes. Machado will be more careful next time no doubt.
Oh Machado is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Machado wants to clinch up but Joe keeps it at a distance.
Machado seems to have got his legs back now.
Machado walks into a left hand.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Machado enables Joe to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Machado manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

A less than humble Average Joe misjudged his post fight interview somewhat and came across a little too arrogant whilst trying to hype up his own abilities.
