The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pilikidis slaps away a takedown attempt from Pearson, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Pearson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Pearson moves in looking to clinch but Pilikidis pushes him off.

Pilikidis rushes Pearson and presses him up against the ropes.
Pearson tries to circle away but Pilikidis has him pinned against the ropes.

Pilikidis escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Pilikidis stuffs the takedown attempt from Pearson. Pearson gets slowly back to his feet.
Pearson dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Pilikidis stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Pilikidis wants it to stay on the feet.

and Pilikidis counters with a nice leg kick.

and Pilikidis counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Pearson!

Pearson wants to control the position but that's not easy when your opponent is in side control! Pilikidis seems to be going for some sort of submission here. Hard to say what - oh, it's a Brabo choke! He's got it! Pearson is tapping! Wow, great finish!
