The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Georgiev jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.

Georgiev closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Powell's guard.
Georgiev is standing up over Powell. Powell looks to escape but Georgiev dives into side control.
Powell really is a fat lump.

Powell has hold of Georgiev's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Georgiev manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Powell tries to pull guard but Georgiev holds him up against the cage and eventually Powell drops back down to his feet.

Georgiev has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Powell regains guard immediately.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Georgiev in particular looking to stall.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Georgiev. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Powell is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Georgiev gets his way!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Georgiev is cranking Powell's head sideways - that looks painful. He's managed to get his other arm under the chin and this looks bad for Powell! He's tightened the choke and Powell is tapping out!
