The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Marcum smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Marcum lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Marcum slips under a jab.
Eildon Heap seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Heap misses with a hook. Marcum ducked under it nicely.
Heap moves forwards but Marcum connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Marcum throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Heap throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Heap lands a jab.
Heap tries to land a front kick but Marcum steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Heap stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
A shot to the liver by Heap. Beautiful body shot.
Heap connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Marcum shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Heap pinned against the cage. Heap gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
A cross from Marcum lands.
Marcum throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Heap thinks about the counter body kick.
Heap motions for Marcum to come forward. Heap throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Marcum tries to close the distance and clinch up but Heap swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Heap takes a swing at Marcum's ribcage but misses.
Heap throws a body punch but Marcum moves out of range.
Eildon Heap is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Heap throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Marcum moves out of range of the strikes.
Marcum throws a nice inside leg kick.
Heap is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Marcum.
Nice defenses there by Marcum.
Heap wants to clinch.
Heap jabbing away but nothing is landing.
As Heap looks to move away, Marcum throws a big counter combo bu Heap just gets out of the way.
Heap misses with a lunging right hand
and Marcum counters with a straight right hand.
Marcum tries to score a power double leg takedown but Heap sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marcum somewhat.
Marcum lands a head kick!

Marcum misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Marcum looks for a takedown but Heap sprawls well.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Heath Marcum. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Heap throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Marcum stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Marcum tries to score a power double leg takedown but Heap sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Marcum somewhat.
The fight stays on the outside here - Marcum looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Heap closes the distance and pushes Marcum back into the cage.
Marcum fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Heap throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Heap creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Marcum misses with some punches.
Marcum drops down looking for an ankle pick but Heap pulls his leg out and moves away.

A decent looking cross lands there for Heap.
Jab, jab by Heap - just one landing.

It looks like Heath Marcum has been cut.
Heap throws a sloppy head kick and Marcum moves out of range easily.
Marcum tries to clinch up.
Heap wants to clinch up but Marcum keeps it at a distance.
Heap throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Marcum has managed to clinch.
Knees to the body from Heap.
Marcum is breathing heavily.
Marcum misses with some punches.
Marcum is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Marcum has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Heap after a bit of a struggle.
Marcum tries for a takedown. No joy.
Marcum is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Heap to keep the fight standing.
Marcum has Heap pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Heap manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Heap lands on the inside with an uppercut.
Heap unloads a knee to the mid-section.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Heap obliges.

Heap pushes off an throws an elbow but Marcum leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.
Heap blocking some punches.
Heap scores with a nice hook to the head.

Marcum is rocked!
Heap lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Marcum to his knees! Heap keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!
