Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 34 - 32 - 3, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jeffson Gracie!
The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Leandro Rodrigues and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Madeira moves to clinch but Gracie breaks away
and Gracie connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Gracie takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Madeira clinches with his opponent.

Gracie breaks from the clinch.
Gracie takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Jab by Gracie.
Gracie keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Madeira swings wildly with a couple of big hooks

and Gracie holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Gracie with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Gracie using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Madeira has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gracie keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Madeira's efforts to push away.

Gracie breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Madeira closes the distance and clinches.

Madeira breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Gracie throws a good cross that connects.

Madeira throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gracie connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.


It looks like To Madeira has been cut.
Madeira slips a jab and a cross from Gracie.
Madeira tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Gracie manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Madeira clinches with his opponent.
Madeira has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Gracie with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.

Madeira manages to break the clinch.
Madeira's corner calls for a 1-2. Madeira obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Gracie misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Madeira looks to land a combination. Gracie sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Madeira pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Gracie back to the cage. Madeira follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.
Madeira falls off balance throwing a combination

and Gracie counters with a takedown into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gracie works to advance to full mount. Madeira defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Gracie is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Madeira has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Gracie throwing strikes here but Madeira is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Madeira is squirming around, avoiding Gracie's attempts to control the action.
Madeira wants to try and get back to his feet.

Gracie stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.
Madeira throws a series of punches but Gracie moves out of range.
Gracie wants to counter with a clinch but Madeira pushes him away.
Madeira rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Gracie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Madeira moves into the clinch successfully.
Madeira is trying to break free.
Gracie lands a hook that snaps the head of Madeira backwards.
Gracie has Madeira pressed against the cage, preventing Madeira from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Gracie jumps into guard, dragging Madeira to the mat.
We've been hearing that Madeira has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Gracie bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Madeira's guard.

Gracie postures up in Madeira's guard and throws a big left but Madeira blocks it.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Gracie is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Gracie with a flurry of punches that miss.
Madeira is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Gracie is controlling him.
Gracie has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Gracie is looking to pass into half guard but Madeira pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Madeira is in guard.

Madeira tries to stand but Gracie is controlling from the bottom.
Gracie looking to hit a scissor sweep but Madeira is one step ahead there.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Madeira avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Jeffson Gracie will probably get the nod.
The cut man is working on To Madeira's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Madeira looks to land a combination but Gracie avoids it well.
To Madeira seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A right-left combo lands from Madeira.
Madeira tries to clinch
and Gracie counters with a right hand to the body.
Madeira throws a nice looking combination but Gracie bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Madeira throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Madeira ducks under a wild hook from Gracie.
Madeira tries to clinch up.
Madeira works the jab nicely.
Gracie connects with a crisp jab.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Madeira listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Madeira scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Madeira throws a right and a left that both miss.
Gracie showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Madeira.

Gracie lands with a hook. Madeira tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
To Madeira is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Madeira throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Gracie counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.


Madeira is rocked!
Madeira closes the distance looking to clinch
and Gracie counters with a big left hand that crumples Madeira! He was out before he hit the floor! Brutal knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:20 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Jeffson Gracie!
A relieved looking Jeffson Gracie thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
