Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Tonton Hong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Police State (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hong kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Hong Entrance Song. State is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Die for Metal. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tonton Hong!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Police State!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
State thows a leg kick but Hong checks it

and Hong counters with a single leg into guard. State didn't expect that.
Hong postures up in State's guard and throws a big left but State blocks it.
State is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Hong throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as State works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
State looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Hong trying to control but State is working from the bottom.
Hong landing with the ground and pound.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hong trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

State is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
Hong working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Hong trying to control the position from guard on top but State is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

State is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Hong connects with a couple of short punches.

State looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Hong passes into side control.
Hong wants to lay and pray for a moment but State keeps working.
State gets back to half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Ground and pound from Hong.
Hong misses with a head shot. State uses the momentum to regain guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
State working for a triangle but Hong defends it easily.
Hong lands a couple of decent looking shots.

State working for submissions but it's allowed Hong to get to half guard.
State is trying to get back to full guard.

Hong is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Hong is stalling here. State is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hong seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and State has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Hong wants to improve his position but State is controlling well.
Hong is trying to defend against the ground and pound but State scores with a couple of nice shots.
State slips a nice elbow through Hong's hands, connecting with Hong's forehead.
Hong has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hong keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
State is taking a breather. Hong says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hong pulls State in close to prevent any damage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

State tries to sprawl but Hong drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Hong throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Hong trying to advance position but State counters by regaining guard.
Hong wants to control from the top but State keeps moving.
State is trying to keep Hong in close.
Hong throwing strikes from guard but State blocks nicely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hong is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

State has his foot on Hong's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hong works his way back into a safe position though.

Hong stands up over State, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

State working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Hong has passed into half guard!
State looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hong is trying to control. State wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

State is looking to control Hong's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can State avoid being mounted?

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
State checks a leg kick.
Hong is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that State can do to turn this around?
Hong wants to slow State down by chopping away at his legs.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Hong.
Hong misses with a hook.
State lands a nice shot to the body.
Police State seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
State throws a body kick but he was well out of range there.
A shot to the liver by State. Beautiful body shot.
Hong throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
State flicks out a counter leg kick but Hong steps away.
Police State is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Hong walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
State misses the jab.
Good shot there by State.
Hong takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Hong throws a jab when State was well out of range.
Hong shoots in looking for a takedown. State tries to sprawl out of it but Hong keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. State manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
State scores with a push kick.

A right-left combo lands from State.


It looks like Tonton Hong has been cut.
Hong looks to throw the jab but State is out of range.
State throws a right hand that Hong ducks under and follows up with a left that Hong also avoids with ease.
Hong lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.
State lands a really nice looking cross but Hong seems unphased.
State swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Hong checks a low kick from State.
State throws a leg kick but Hong moved away.
State feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Hongs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Hong fakes a jab and throws a low kick but State checks it well.
State moves out of range as Hong throws a body kick.
Hong scoring well with a low kick there.
Hong throws the kick towards the body but State avoids it.
Hong finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Nice defenses there by Hong.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
State tries to bum rush Hong with a series of wild strikes but Hong uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Police State seems to be getting the better of the standup.
State tries to work over Hong's front leg with a kick but Hong checks it.
State turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
State fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Hong shoots for a takedown but State saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
State takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
State connects with a body shot.
State scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Hong doesn't seem bothered though.
State misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
A slapping leg kick lands for State.
Hong has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from State.
Hong throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
State throws a body kick that misses.
State takes a swing at Hong's ribcage but misses.
State takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Hong misses with an uppercut. State saw that one coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Police State showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The cut man is working on Tonton Hong's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. And we move into the final round!


Hong connects with a crisp jab.
State jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Hong tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but State defends well and Hong ends up having to push State into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hong rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but State moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Hong is looking to land body kicks.
State pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Hong shoots in but State avoids the takedown attempt easily.
State buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Hong takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
State lands a nice hook to Hong's body. Hong takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
State slips a jab from Hong.
State jabs Hong right on the nose. Hong blinks but takes it well.

Hong gets a takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

State on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
State moves into full guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

State is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Hong is aware though and is defending well.

Hong got a little sloppy there for a moment and State has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hong has managed to get both his arms back between State's legs - danger averted.

State has momentary wrist control but Hong slips an elbow through the middle.

Tonton Hong overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

State avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

State keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Hong prevents State from improving his position.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hong scores with a jab.
A nice leg kick lands there from Hong.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Hong takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

State misses with a straight left.
Hong avoids a low kick by using good footwork.

And that's the end of the fight!
Tonton Hong showed his dominance in that final round.

After the fight, Tonton Hong was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
