The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Silver darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Gardner flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.

Silver is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Gardner defends it well.
Gardner makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Gardner.

Silver has Gardner up against the cage in a clinch.
Gardner jumps guard but Silver stands there with Gardner around his waist. Gardner gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Silver has Gardner pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Silver pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Gardner tumbling to the mat - Silver dives into Gardner's guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Silver is looking to take a break and control but Gardner is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

A telegraphed takedown attempt from Gardner is defended easily by Silver.

Silver ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Silver no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Gardner accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Silver is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Silver connects with a good right hand that stumbles Gardner. Gardner circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Silver closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Gardner quickly recovers to half guard.

Silver stands up and beckons Gardner to his feet.

Gardner takes a big shot to the dome and his eyes have rolled back in his head! Silver's killer instinct has kicked in as he finishes the fight with more strikes. Impressive finish.
