Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Vicente Nunes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Robert Witczak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Witczak has chosen P.O.D. - Boom! as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Bart Greer and David Hoff.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nunes throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Witczak on the side of the head.
Nunes connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Vicente Nunes seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nunes moves out of range of the body kick.
Nunes thuds a left hand into Witczak's body.
Nunes lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.


It looks like Robert Witczak has been cut.
Nunes jabs at Witczak's body.
Witczak has his takedown stuffed
and Nunes counters with a stiff right hand.
Nunes jabs. That one connects to the head of his opponent.
Nunes scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Witczak doesn't seem bothered though.
Witczak takes a body punch but keeps moving.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Nunes misses the shot to the body.
Nunes lands an overhand right.
A jab lands there for Nunes.

Nunes swings for the body but Witczak moves out of range.
Witczak with the counter takedown but Nunes avoids it easily.

Nunes feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Nunes has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Nunes slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Witczak is looking to reverse the position.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Nunes lands with a cross.
Witczak shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Nunes but Nunes pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nunes connects with a body shot that sends Witczak's belly button to the back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

and Nunes counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.

and Nunes cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Witczak has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Nunes can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Nunes sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Witczak's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Witczak takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
