Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Miguel Cotto!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Sarafian!
The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, John Roberts and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sarafian throws a hook but Cotto avoids it easily.
A head kick by Sarafian misses
and Cotto counters with a straight right hand.

Sarafian takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
We've been told by Cotto's head coaches at Wild Card that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Sarafian is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sarafian lands with a straight right. Cotto didn't see that one coming.

Sarafian looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Cotto fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Sarafian looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Sarafian throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Cotto half committed to a counter leg kick.
A jab from Cotto finds it's way through Sarafian's defenses.

Sarafian looks up at the clock. Bad move! Cotto lands a right hand from hell, dropping Sarafian. Cotto pounces and finishes the fight with a flurry of punches and elbows.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Miguel Cotto!
During a confident post fight interview, Miguel Cotto thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
