Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Orpo Jokinen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Will Dearborn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jokinen comes to the cage accompanied by Are You Dead Yet? by Children of Bodom. This should be fireworks!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Orpo Jokinen!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 22 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Will Dearborn!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dearborn misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Jokinen.

Jokinen looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Dearborn fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Dearborn throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Jokinen is looking to counter the offense by Dearborn and move into the clinch.
Dearborn has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Jokinen is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Dearborn defends it well.

A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Dearborn holds on and takes a little breather.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Dearborn connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Jokinen fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
A bone on bone clash there as Jokinen blocks the leg kick.
Jokinen tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Dearborn manages to circle out of the way.
Dearborn stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.
Jokinen fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Dearborn.
Jokinen is looking to slow Dearborn down with leg kicks.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Will Dearborn will probably get the nod.

Dearborn fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Jokinen checks it well.

Dearborn keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A head kick misses from Dearborn.
Jokinen is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Dearborn.
Jokinen throws a series of punches but Dearborn moves out of range.
Jokinen throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.

Jokinen dives in and scores a takedown into Dearborn's guard.

Dearborn controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Jokinen working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Dearborn doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Dearborn manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Dearborn got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jokinen has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Dearborn has managed to get both his arms back between Jokinen's legs - danger averted.

Jokinen has his foot on Dearborn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Dearborn works his way back into a safe position though.

That was a close second round but I would say that Orpo Jokinen will probably get the nod.

Will Dearborn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Jokinen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dearborn was covering up waiting for the punch and Jokinen finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Jokinen drops back, looking for a kneebar! Dearborn looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Dearborn looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Dearborn!

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

and Dearborn counters with a three punch combo that has Jokinen backing up. Jokinen nods at Dearborn to acknowledge the strikes.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Jokinen lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Dearborn has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Dearborn and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Dearborn throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Jokinen on the side of the head.

Jokinen tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Dearborn paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Jokinen looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Dearborn is fending him off so far but Jokinen persists. Nope, Dearborn circles away and we're back to standing.

That kick from Dearborn tenderised Jokinen's leg. Jokinen is trying to keep his angry face on.

Dearborn has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

I think Dearborn has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.

Orpo Jokinen was interviewed post fight and said 'You know, I came into this fight with a bulging disk and a ugh, a cracked skull. I wanna see someone fight with a cracked skull. That's why I came into this fight with a black eye. Cause my skull is cracked right here.'.
