The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Luzhin dodges the punch combination from Benton.
Benton sets himself, and Luzhin steps forward looking for the clinch! Benton avoids it this time.
Benton looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Benton throws a sloppy head kick and Luzhin moves out of range easily.
Benton misses with a head kick.
Luzhin throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Benton takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Luzhin pushes Benton up against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Benton tries to keep at a distance but Luzhin has taken the fight into the clinch.

Luzhin keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Benton's efforts to push away.
Luzhin lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
A nice right hand lands inside from Luzhin.
Benton is looking to break free of the clinch but Luzhin has double underhooks.

Benton looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Luzhin is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Benton is defending well for now.
Benton breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Luzhin lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

Benton with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Luzhin to score with a decent uppercut.

Benton is rocked!

Oh Benton is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Benton fails to land with a series of punches.
Benton seems to have got his legs back now.
Luzhin connects with a leg kick. Benton looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
Benton throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Luzhin counters with a right hand to the body.
Luzhin ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Benton throws a jab but it's blocked by Luzhin.
Benton gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Luzhin.
Luzhin fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Benton looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Luzhin throws a monster overhand right that drops Benton! Luzhin follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nikolai Luzhin!
Nikolai Luzhin was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
