Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cedric Maake (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dave Spiteri (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Spiteri has chosen AC/DC -TNT as his entrance music. Dave Spiteri has the eye of the tiger tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 20 - 11 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Cedric Maake!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dave Spiteri!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spiteri has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Maake finds it's way round the side to connect with Spiteri's head.
Spiteri takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Spiteri jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Maake throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Spiteri digs a good body shot into Maake's ribs.
Cedric Maake seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Spiteri misses with a low kick.
Maake finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Spiteri looks like he wants to counter punch here.
Maake chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Spiteri throws a right hand that Maake ducks under and follows up with a left that Maake also avoids with ease.

A quick step to the side and Maake tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.
Maake uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Spiteri.

Maake's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Spiteri connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Maake scrambles back to his feet.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Spiteri gets a trip takedown into half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Maake works his way to full guard. Good work.
Spiteri postures up in Maake's guard and throws a big left but Maake blocks it.

Spiteri stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maake swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Spiteri working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Maake avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Spiteri is in close to Maake's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Maake escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Spiteri gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Spiteri is looking to work some ground and pound but Maake has wrist control.

Maake is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Spiteri defends well.
Maake has momentary wrist control but Spiteri slips an elbow through the middle.
Spiteri is pushing down on Maake's leg trying to pass to half guard. Maake is fighting to maintain full guard but Spiteri has managed to sneak the leg through.

Maake working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Spiteri doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Spiteri manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Maake is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

A close round but Dave Spiteri will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Maake throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Spiteri.

Maake bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Maake throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Spiteri sees it coming and avoids it easily.

and Spiteri connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

Spiteri tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Maake manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Spiteri takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Spiteri counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Maake closes the distance and clinches.

Spiteri has hold of one of Maake's legs. Maake is fighting the takedown attempt but Spiteri gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Maake looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Spiteri keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Maake's head.
Spiteri wants to control from the top but Maake keeps moving.
Maake is trying to keep Spiteri in close.

Maake looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Spiteri has picked Maake up and slammed him! Maake can't keep hold of the triangle and Spiteri manages to pass to side control!
Spiteri looks up at the clock and then as Maake takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Spiteri smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Maake is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Spiteri is one step ahead and moves to full mount!
Spiteri looking to finish Maake with some ground and pound. This is bad for Maake!
Spiteri lands a big shot there that rocks Maake but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Maake bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Maake trying to control but Spiteri is working from the bottom.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Spiteri is on top in guard.

Spiteri is working Maake over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Maake has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Spiteri can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Maake has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Dave Spiteri showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

A combination from Maake does no damage.
Maake throws a shot from downtown. Spiteri moves away and avoids it.
It seemed like Spiteri was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
Some bone on bone action there as Spiteri checks a low kick. Luckily it wasn't a particularly hard one.
Spiteri dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Maake. That did some damage!

Maake rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
enabling Spiteri to counter with a crisp jab.
Maake will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Spiteri takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Maake dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters circling - Maake throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Cedric Maake has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Maake lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Spiteri throws a body punch but Maake moves out of range.

Spiteri decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Spiteri working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

Maake looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Spiteri pushes past his half guard into mount!
Maake wants to hold on but Spiteri pushes him away.

Spiteri with shots to the head and body - Maake looks very uncomfortable down there.
Maake wants to control but Spiteri is having none of it.

Spiteri lands a heavy elbow.
Oh Maake is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!

Maake is working to get back to half guard.
A nice elbow there by Spiteri.
Maake is wriggling around trying to escape.
Spiteri pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Spiteri raining down shots from the mount!
Spiteri lands a heavy shot. That's hurt Maake! Spiteri sees the opportunity and turns up the heat - strike after strike land to the defenseless Maake and the ref dives in to save him! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:45 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Strikes). Dave Spiteri!
