The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McDermott misses with a body shot.
McDermott fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
MacManus lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.

McDermott gets a takedown into half guard.

MacManus kicks McDermott off and gets back to his feet.

MacManus gets caught napping as McDermott dives in and scores a takedown. MacManus manages to retain guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
McDermott prevents MacManus from getting back to his feet.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McDermott accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Both fighters have adopted an aggressive gameplan on the ground!
McDermott working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
MacManus is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
McDermott looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
McDermott stops MacManus from standing up.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as McDermott accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

MacManus wants to get back to his feet but McDermott is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
McDermott loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

The fighters are working up against the cage. MacManus manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

MacManus's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
MacManus works the jab nicely.

It looks like PJ McDermott has been cut.
MacManus defending well as McDermott loads up on a big left hand.
MacManus connects with a leg kick. McDermott looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
McDermott takes a shot right to the bread basket.
McDermott fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
MacManus fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
MacManus scores with a nice body kick.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
MacManus lands a right hook to the body.
McDermott looks to score with a jab to the body but MacManus is just out of range.
McDermott misses the shot to the body.

MacManus stuffs the takedown.

McDermott looks winded!

MacManus leaves McDermott with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Thud! ouch! good body kick from MacManus - that will leave a mark!
McDermott throws a lazy right hand but MacManus sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
McDermott waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract MacManus.
MacManus's corner calls for a 1-2. MacManus obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
McDermott throws a jab but it's blocked by MacManus.
McDermott on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
McDermott sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
Nice jab there from MacManus.
MacManus lands a jab to McDermott 's midsection.

MacManus sends McDermott crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! MacManus is motioning to the referee to let McDermott up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

McDermott is rocked!
MacManus scores with a hook to the body. McDermott takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
McDermott is still on wobbly legs! Can MacManus finish him?
MacManus measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes McDermott ! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!

A relieved looking Murphy MacManus thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
