Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Din Aleshi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joe Walcott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Din Aleshi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Walcott!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Edson Gomes and Matheus Silva.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aleshi scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one.

Walcott gets a double leg takedown into Aleshi's guard.
Aleshi thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
Walcott sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Walcott trying to control the position from guard on top but Aleshi is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Walcott must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Walcott chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Aleshi can pounce on him.
Aleshi tries a low kick but Walcott avoids it.
Walcott wants to counter the offense by Aleshi and move into the clinch position.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Walcott is defended easily by Aleshi.

Walcott has taken the fight to the clinch.
Aleshi stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.

Walcott ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Walcott no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Aleshi has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Walcott can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


That's a knee to de groin and it's over and out! Walcott crumples to the ground after an illegal strike from Aleshi - the referee stops the clock and Walcott gets 5 minutes to recover from that one. "I'm sorry" says Aleshi. Walcott manages to get back to his feet and the fight resumes.

Walcott looks for a takedown but Aleshi sprawls well.

Aleshi lands with an uppercut that bounces Walcott off the cage and back into range.

Aleshi feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Walcotts jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

We've been told by Aleshi's head coaches at LOD: Fight Club that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Walcott darts in looking for a takedown but Aleshi gets double underhooks and turns Walcott into the cage.
As Walcott backs away, Aleshi returns fire with a leg kick that just misses.
Walcott on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Aleshi throws a leg kick but Walcott sees it coming and moves out of range.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Walcott bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Aleshi's head backwards.
Joe Walcott is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Walcott will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

The fight stays on the outside here - Walcott looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Walcott drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Aleshi gets the underhooks and prevents it.

OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Walcott scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Aleshi doesn't seem bothered though.
Aleshi jabs Walcott right on the nose. Walcott blinks but takes it well.
Walcott lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Walcott uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Aleshi.
A bone on bone clash there as Walcott blocks the leg kick.
Walcott lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Aleshi stuffs the takedown.

Walcott steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Aleshi.

Good leg kick by Aleshi there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Walcott dives in and grabs Aleshi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Aleshi pushes down on Walcott's head and hops out.

Walcott throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Aleshi's waist but Aleshi gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Walcott off to one side.
Walcott takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Aleshi lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.
Walcott moves out of range of the body kick.
And Walcott tries to counter it with a takedown but Aleshi pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Aleshi throws a sloppy head kick and Walcott moves out of range easily.
Aleshi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Walcott's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Din Aleshi is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Walcott is looking to break free of the clinch but Aleshi has double underhooks.

Walcott tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Aleshi smiles and moves away.
Aleshi lands a glancing blow to the side of Walcott's head.

Despite the aggression on Walcott's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.

Walcott tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Aleshi defends well and Walcott ends up having to push Aleshi into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Walcott scores with a one two! Aleshi had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.

Walcott shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Aleshi feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Walcotts jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Walcott takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

Walcott tries to clinch there but Aleshi circles away.
Joe Walcott has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Aleshi tests Walcott's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Aleshi throws out a leg kick but Walcott moves out of range and Aleshi only half commits.

And that's the end of the fight!
Din Aleshi showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Aleshi, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
