Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jay Dee BJ (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonny Jon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 8 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jay Dee BJ!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Jonny Jon!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

BJ looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Jon!

Jon lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but BJ circles away quickly and effectively.

BJ postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Jon is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of BJ, into his guard.

Jon got a little sloppy there for a moment and BJ has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jon has managed to get both his arms back between BJ's legs - danger averted.

A close round but Jonny Jon will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

and BJ counters with an outside leg kick.

BJ shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jon as he jumps to the side.

Jon forces BJ back against the cage and clinches.
Jon is pressed up against the cage. BJ has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Jon down to the mat. Jon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jay Dee BJ. That's going to take a lot out of him.

BJ dives in and grabs Jon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Jon pushes down on BJ's head and hops out.
The fight stays on the outside here - BJ looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Jon tries to close the distance and clinch up but BJ swats him away and circles back towards the center.

BJ looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jon has picked BJ up and slammed him! BJ can't keep hold of the triangle and Jon manages to pass to side control!

BJ tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Jon paws at him with a jab and circles away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Jonny Jon is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
BJ is stalling in the full guard.
BJ sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Jon's guard.
Jay Dee BJ has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

BJ is looking for a kimura but Jon is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for BJ to get the leverage.
BJ throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Jon to regain full guard.
BJ stops Jon from standing up.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Jay Dee BJ.
I think Jon has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
