Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Jons and Heliade Radulescu. Heliade Radulescu acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 wins, 0 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Jons!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 wins, 0 losses and 0 draws, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Heliade Radulescu!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Daniel Cesar and Seu Braga.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Radulescu rushes Jons and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Radulescu turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Radulescu stands up.
Jons shoots for a takedown but Radulescu saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Radulescu with the counter takedown but Jons avoids it easily.
A low kick from Jons misses
and Radulescu counters with a series of strikes. Jons will be more careful next time no doubt.
Jons could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Jons shoots in looking for a takedown. Radulescu tries to sprawl out of it but Jons keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Radulescu manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Radulescu is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

Radulescu gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Radulescu will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Jons up against the cage.

Radulescu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Jons gets tackled into the cage by Radulescu. Radulescu maintains the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jons looking for a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Jons. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jons tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Radulescu throws a knee to the head but misses.

Radulescu gets control of Jons's arms and successfully pulls guard. Radulescu will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Jons definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Jons sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Jons trying to control but Radulescu is working from the bottom.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Radulescu can do anything to dispel that myth.
Radulescu wants to get back to his feet but Jons is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Radulescu is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Jons dives into side control.
Jons remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Radulescu throws Jons to one side and escapes!
Jons closes the distance and clinches up with Radulescu, looking for a takedown. Jons pushes Radulescu against the cage but Radulescu circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Radulescu clinches up with Jons and pushes him back against the cage.
Radulescu with a knee to the head.
Jons tries to pull guard but Radulescu holds him up against the cage and eventually Jons drops back down to his feet.
Radulescu tries to land a knee to the head but Jons blocks with his arms.
Jons takes an elbow to the temple.

Radulescu jumps guard and drags Jons to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Jons working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Jons sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Radulescu's guard.
Jons wants to stand but Radulescu has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Radulescu wants to get back to his feet.
Jons wants to lay and pray for a moment but Radulescu keeps working.
Radulescu is trying to stand.

Jons seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Radulescu is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Dan Jons!
