Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Freddie Weeks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Svensson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Svensson has chosen Shinedown - Diamond Eyes as his entrance music. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Freddie Weeks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Alex Svensson!
The judges for this bout are Arvi Lind, Marco Blurström and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Weeks shoots in looking for a takedown. Svensson tries to sprawl out of it but Weeks keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Svensson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Svensson has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Weeks fails with an attempt to clinch.

Svensson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Svensson is working an open guard so Weeks takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Svensson fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Weeks.

Svensson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Svensson showed some decent athleticism there.

Svensson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Weeks is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Svensson to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Svensson shrugs it off.

Weeks drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Svensson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Weeks has Svensson in his guard.

Weeks's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
