The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lara has Bot up against the cage in a clinch.

Lara breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bot will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
A little feinted left hand from Lara on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Lara gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Lara rushes Bot and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Bot stays in close to his opponent and throws a right hand to the body.

Lara breaks the clinch.
Bot throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Lara stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lara moves in looking to clinch but Bot pushes him off.
Lara takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Bot throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Bot scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.

and Lara takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Bot moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lara looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Lara keeps control of Bot as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Lara's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Bot lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Lara with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Bot to score with a decent uppercut.

Lara escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Lara rushes Bot and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
A frustrated look appears on Bot's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Sparring Bot seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bot lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Bot has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.

Bot is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Lara had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Lara doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Bot tests Lara's chin there with a solid looking shot.

Lara rushes Bot and presses him up against the cage.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Bot lands a hook to the side of the head.

Lara breaks the clinch.
Bot lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Lara at a distance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sparring Bot dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!

Bot lands with a nice body punch.
Bot throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Lara on the side of the head.
Lara takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Lara could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Bot closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Bot wants to get back to striking at distance but Lara won't allow it.
Lara is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Bot is defending well for now.

Lara's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Lara on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Bot with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Bot connects with a single shot there.
A decent looking cross lands there for Bot.
Bot closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Bot has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Lara has managed to clinch.
Bot scores with an uppercut up the middle.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Bot.

Bot lands a body punch in the clinch.
Lara drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Bot gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Lara wants a takedown.
Bot lands a hook to the body. It's hard to tell if that hurt Lara or not.

Lara manages to break the clinch.
Lara has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ.

Lara is rocked!

It looks like Charley Lara has been cut.
Bot walks forward and throws a big overhand right! Lara drops to the floor like a sack of potatoes! Bot swarms on him with more punches until the referee wrestles him away from Lara's unconscious body! Wow, that was brutal!
