Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Abdulla Quliev (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Freitag (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Freitag has chosen Limp Bizkit - Break stuff as his entrance music. Abdulla Quliev has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freitag with a nice cross.
Quliev tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Freitag looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.
Jab, jab by Quliev - just one landing.
Freitag swats away the attempt to clinch by Quliev.
Freitag takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.

Quliev gets caught napping as Freitag dives in and scores a takedown. Quliev manages to retain guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Freitag postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Quliev is controlling Freitag's posture.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Freitag darts in looking for a takedown but Quliev gets double underhooks and turns Freitag into the cage.

Freitag has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Freitag thows a huge punch but Quliev dodges it nicely.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Freitag connects with a nice short shot to Quliev's temple.

Freitag is keen to just control but Quliev is a slippery customer.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Freitag fails with the takedown.
As Freitag looks to move away, Quliev throws a big counter combo bu Freitag just gets out of the way.
Quliev throws a hook but Freitag avoids it easily.
Quliev throws a push kick but Freitag slaps the foot to one side.
Quliev scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Freitag lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Freitag moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Quliev missing with a left hand there. Freitag was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Despite the aggression on Freitag's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Quliev will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Quliev fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Quliev is looking to clinch but Freitag is avoiding it.
Freitag was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.
Freitag misses with an uppercut. Quliev saw that one coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Mike Freitag will probably get the nod.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

It seemed like Freitag was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.

Quliev throws out a loose jab but Freitag uses good head movement to avoid it.

Freitag closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Quliev avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Freitag.

Quliev pushes Freitag away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Freitag gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Freitag lands a strong strike to the head of Quliev. That's dazed him! Freitag looking to finish here. Quliev is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Freitag lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

A very excited looking Mike Freitag rambled incoherently for about 5 minutes post fight about how awesome he is. It was kinda funny for a while but then everyone got annoyed.
