The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boson tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but West was well out of range. Poor timing from Boson.

West keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Boson's head.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw West working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well.
Boson has momentary wrist control but West slips an elbow through the middle.
West pushes down on Boson's leg and manages to get into half guard.

It looks like Higgs Boson has been cut.

West is actively looking for submissions here but good counter grappling here from Boson as he works his way to full guard.
