The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wasabi throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck RIck on the side of the head.
RIck shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Wasabi makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Wasabi lands the left hand.
RIck drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Horrible takedown attempt by RIck or perhaps it was just good defense by Wasabi, which made it look bad.

RIck looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Wasabi is fending him off so far but RIck persists. Nope, Wasabi circles away and we're back to standing.

Wasabi slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Wasabi is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by RIck.
RIck doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Wasabi counters with a straight right hand.
RIck changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Wasabi tries to avoid it but RIck manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Wasabi to the ground. Wasabi escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
RIck is breathing heavily.
Wasabi scores with a jab. RIck acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
RIck takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Wasabi might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

RIck is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Wasabi looks calm but he's in trouble here. RIck gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Wasabi is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! RIck lets go of the hold and Wasabi can pop his arm back in it's socket.
