The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Elvis Blanc and Robert Douchet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jab by Batroc.
Georges Batroc seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Akki uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Batroc.
Akki dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Batroc. That did some damage!
Batroc staying out of range there.
Akki tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Batroc tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
Akki throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Batroc looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Akki uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Batroc.
A little feinted left hand from Akki on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Akki slips a straight right by Batroc.
It appears Akki was looking to counter with a kick there.
A looping hook to the body misses from Batroc. Akki does a little dance to reset his feet.

Batroc tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Akki was well out of range. Poor timing from Batroc.
Akki seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Batroc has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Akki.
Akki lands a leg kick that knocks Batroc off balance momentarily.
Batroc misses with an uppercut. Akki saw that one coming.
Batroc is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Akki rather than just go for the knockout.
Batroc throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Batroc wants to slow Akki down by chopping away at his legs.
Akki half committed to a counter leg kick.
Akki lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.

It looks like Georges Batroc has been cut.
Akki throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Batroc throws a body punch but Akki moves out of range.
Batroc listening to his corner there, landing a nice uppercut.
Akki feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Batrocs jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Akki misses with a few strikes there.
Batroc misses with a hook. Akki ducked under it nicely.
We've been told by Akki's head coaches at Boston MMA that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Batroc throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Akki counters with a straight right hand.

Batroc is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

and Akki counters with a big right hand! Oh Batroc is in trouble here! Akki follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
