Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Takashi Kadota (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pierre Gautier (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kadota plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Nice body kick there by Gautier.
Gautier dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kadota. That did some damage!
Takashi Kadota seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Gautier takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gautier looking to control but Kadota is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Kadota gets back to half guard.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kadota slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.

and Gautier counters with a low kick, right behind Kadota 's knee.
Kadota throws a leg kick but Gautier checks it.

Pierre Gautier is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Gautier tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.

and Gautier counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Kadota is lucky that one didn't land flush.

Gautier drops Kadota with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Kadota looks back up at him and smiles so Gautier waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Oh Kadota is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Kadota throws a chopping leg kick but Gautier manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
Gautier flicks out a counter leg kick but Kadota steps away.

Pierre Gautier dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Kadota on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Gautier thuds his right hand into Kadota's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

A telegraphed right hand from Kadota misses the target.
Kadota wants to land a leg kick but Gautier is out of range.
Gautier let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Kadota throws a hook but Gautier blocks it.
Kadota loads up on a big right hand but Gautier slips the punch.
Kadota takes one to the chin there.
Gautier ducks right into an uppercut from Kadota.
Kadota circles away from the clinch attempt.
Gautier is looking to land body kicks.
Kadota half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Kadota misses with a low kick.
Kadota throws a wild body kick that Gautier sees coming a mile off.
Gautier misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Gautier misses with a straight left.

Gautier lands a left and a right that send Kadota crashing to the mat, dazed. Gautier thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kadota uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Gautier scores with a hook to the body. Kadota takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Horrible takedown attempt by Kadota or perhaps it was just good defense by Gautier, which made it look bad.
Gautier now looks to counter with a shot at the body.

Gautier walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kadota checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.

and Gautier counters with a crisp one two that drops Kadota! Gautier thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Kadota to his feet! Kadota is in big trouble!
