Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Wado Ryu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Morys Bankowski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ryu comes to the cage accompanied by kalimba. Bankowski has chosen Rocket Man as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick by Bankowski misses
and Ryu counters with a body kick.
Bankowski misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Ryu keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Bankowski fails with a takedown attempt.
Ryu is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Bankowski.
Bankowski misses with an attempted mid kick.
Bankowski scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Bankowski throws a right hand that Ryu ducks under and follows up with a left that Ryu also avoids with ease.
Bankowski shoots in for a double leg but Ryu sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Bankowski shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ryu as he jumps to the side.
Wado Ryu has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Morys Bankowski.

Bankowski is trying hard to land a takedown here. Ryu sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Ryu throws a counter high kick but Bankowski was just alert enough to avoid it.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Bankowski.

Ryu tried to counter with a leg kick but Bankowski avoided it.
Morys Bankowski seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Ryu was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.

Bankowski looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ryu is fending him off so far but Bankowski persists. Nope, Ryu circles away and we're back to standing.

Ryu seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Bankowski looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.

Ryu keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Ryu lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.

Bankowski is still on wobbly legs! Can Ryu finish him?

and Ryu counters with a perfectly timed head kick, knocking Bankowski out cold! Wow, that took some serious skill and not a little luck! Ryu is taking it in his stride though, strolling around like it's no big deal. What a guy.
