The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sokolov bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Sokolov looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Nice straight punches there by Sokolov. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Sokolov.
Good leg kick by Sokolov there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Matti Tolonen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Sokolov feints and then cracks Tolonen's leading leg with a nice low kick. He's obviously looking to slow Tolonen down.

The fight stays on the outside here - Sokolov looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Tolonen tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sokolov was well out of range. Poor timing from Tolonen.

Sokolov takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Sokolov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

I was talking to Tolonen's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

Tolonen blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Tolonen pushes Sokolov against the cage. Tolonen is working some dirty boxing. Tolonen pushes off with a quick right hook! Sokolov goes down! Sokolov tries to stand but stumbles back to his kness! Tolonen moves in to finish and the ref steps in to prevent any more damage!
