The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ventura slips a jab from Goodman.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Ventura! But no joy.
Ventura moves out of range of the body kick from Goodman.
Despite the aggression on Ventura's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Goodman showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Ventura.
Goodman avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Ventura throws a right hand that Goodman ducks under and follows up with a left that Goodman also avoids with ease.
Goodman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Goodman wants to clinch up but Ventura keeps it at a distance.
Ventura looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Ventura falls off balance throwing a combination
and Goodman counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Goodman.

Goodman shoots in looking for a takedown but Ventura manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Goodman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Goodman swings wildly with an uppercut but Ventura uses good head movement to avoid it.

Goodman throws a punch but it's blocked by Ventura.
We've been informed that Ventura has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Ventura is pressed up against the cage. Goodman has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Ventura down to the mat. Ventura avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Ventura uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Goodman.

Ventura throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Goodman tries to clinch but Ventura is having none of it.

Goodman throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Ventura thows a left - swing and a miss!
Goodman is looking to counter the offense by Ventura and move into the clinch.
Goodman throws a lazy head kick
and Ventura counters with a crisp one two that drops Goodman! Ventura thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Goodman to his feet! Goodman is in big trouble!
Goodman is rocked!
Ventura sees an opening and throws a straight punch right through Goodman's defenses. It connects perfectly with Goodman's jaw and knocks him out cold! Wow - that's a contender for knockout of the year - absolutely brutal!
