Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Andre Stevenson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stevenson tries to clinch but Carter moves out of range.

Carter closes the distance and pushes Stevenson back into the cage.

Stevenson gets caught napping as Carter dives in and scores a takedown. Stevenson manages to retain guard.
Carter wants to pass the guard but Stevenson is keeping the position.

Carter uses his free foot to push down on Stevenson's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Stevenson.

Carter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Stevenson is looking to regain half guard here but Carter keeps moving and retains side control.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Carter looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Stevenson is avoiding damage well.

Carter tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Carter has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Carter thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Stevenson is looking to reverse the position.

Stevenson is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Carter asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Carter swings around for an armbar but Stevenson sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Carter's guard.
Stevenson wants to control from the top but Carter keeps moving.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Stevenson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Carter shoots in and bounces Stevenson off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Stevenson lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.
Carter controlling the position.
Carter bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Stevenson's guard.

Carter is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Stevenson tries to sprawl but Carter drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Carter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Carter is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Stevenson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Carter works his way into full mount!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Carter lands a couple of good shots and Stevenson has given up his back, trying to escape the position!

I really don't envy Stevenson right now.
Stevenson is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Carter.

Carter is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Carter has the hooks in and he's looking for a rear naked choke here. Stevenson is defending well but eventually Carter manages to get an arm under the chin and he's locked on the RNC! Stevenson has no choice but to tap now! He does! This one is all over!

After the fight, John Carter was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
