Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Because I Can (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richie Ronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Because I Can!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Richie Ronson!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Chris Saunders and Paul Gruel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ronson misses with a jab, cross combination.
Ronson digs a good body shot into I Can's ribs.
I Can throws the left hand but Ronson avoids the punch easily.
I Can closes this distance looking for a takedown but Ronson circles away.
Ronson misses the shot to the body.
Ronson throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
I Can swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Ronson throws a looping overhand right but I Can ducks down to avoid it.
I Can throwing a counter right hand but Ronson manages to avoid it.
Ronson throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

I Can shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ronson sprawls well. Ronson wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. I Can gets slowly back to his feet.

I Can darts in looking for a takedown but Ronson gets double underhooks and turns I Can into the cage.

Ronson displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as I Can throws out the jab.
Richie Ronson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Ronson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

I Can shoots in looking for a takedown. Ronson tries to sprawl out of it but I Can keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ronson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

I Can shoots in for a takedown but Ronson shows good takedown defense.
No joy there for Ronson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A little feinted left hand from I Can on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Ronson digs a good hook to I Can's body.
Ronson connects with a right hand. I Can shakes it off.
Ronson fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. I Can looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
I Can slips a jab and a cross from Ronson.
It looked like I Can wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Ronson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent I Can stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

I Can ducks under a wild hook from Ronson.
Ronson cracks a nice hook into I Can's ribs.
I Can keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Ronson.
Ronson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. I Can doesn't seem bothered though.

I Can avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
I Can appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Richie Ronson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

I Can tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ronson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten I Can somewhat.

I Can takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.


I Can is rocked!
No luck with that takedown attempt from I Can.
Oh I Can is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
I Can gets tagged by a hook that puts him to sleep! Ronson points and yells something to his unconcious foe before strutting off. I Can wakes up just in time to hear Ronson thank his coaches in the post fight interview.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:23 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Richie Ronson!
Richie Ronson was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
Because I Can was interviewed post fight and said 'I'm so handsome i'm not surprised this guy was all over me the way he was!'.
